Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice is an organization about living and enhancing quality of life. The importance of providing compassionate care to our patients and their families is one of our five values. Ensuring the same for our staff and their families is one of our top priorities.

It is our intention to support the well-being of each employee to the very best of our ability. That is why we offer a comprehensive benefits package that provides quality coverage for health and wellness, financial support, and a whole lot more.

Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice is pleased to offer Health Insurance Coverage through an
Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA). An ICHRA is a new and innovative
way for Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice to offer health insurance to our employees and their
eligible dependents. Annually, Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice sets the amounts we will
reimburse employees (based on employment status, age, and geographic location) for individual
coverage purchased by our employees. We have partnered with Take Command Health to administer
the ICHRA plan.

A health savings account (HSA) is a medical, pre-tax benefit savings account that can be used with qualified high deductible health plans (HDHP). To have an HSA, you must be enrolled in an HSA compatible plan (please be sure to confirm this with Take Command Health) and you must not be covered by Medicare (or any other Non-QHDHP).

Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice allows employees to set up an HSA account at the financial institution of your choice.

Sometimes work and life can become too much to handle on our own. Androscoggin provides an EAP as a resource to help and is as close as your phone or computer.  EAP is designed to support our staff so they can lead a happier and more productive life at home and at work. Unum has licensed Professional Counselors available 24/7 and also Work/Life Specialists to answer questions and find resources in your community.

Androscoggin is about living! Our tagline is “for Health. for Life.” Providing care at end-of-life is important for our patients and their families. We know that our staff may also experience the need to be with, and care for, a family member. Our End-of-Life Care Leave provides time for our staff to be with their loved one during end-of-life moments.

  • All regular part-time and full-time employees are eligible to request End-of-Life Care Leave of up to 12 weeks.
  • After Earned Benefit Time is used to within two weeks of the balance, Androscoggin will continue to pay the individual at 66 2/3% of their regular weekly gross pay, in the form of end-of-life benefit time.

Higher education is necessary for some disciplines and a goal for others. In either case, the cost of education can be daunting. Androscoggin understands this and has set up funds to assist and support our staff in their educational pursuits.

  • All status staff, following six months of employment, are eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement (requests from per diem employees will be approved on a case-by-case basis)

At Androscoggin, continuing education is important for our staff and clinicians to stay up to date with training, techniques, and general information. We support payment for job related educational workshops based on status and paid time to attend.

Ensuring that our leaders have the tools, resources and knowledge they need to be successful is vital to the success of our teams. Androscoggin meets this priority in the following ways:

  • All-staff orientation and preceptor for clinical staff
  • Dedicated clinical staff educators
  • Online Learning Modules for general and role specific education
  • Monthly Management Day
  • New Leader Mentoring
  • Emerging Leaders program

A safe and reliable vehicle is vitally important to our clinicians in order to travel to visit and take care of our patients.  We know that “life happens” and repairs can be necessary, however, the funds might not be available. To meet this unexpected expense Androscoggin allows for an emergency car repair loan.

  • All staff are eligible with an agreement to work at least 20 hours per week for the entire duration of the loan
  • Loans may be granted for emergency automobile repairs and car rental while repairs are being done when there is no other means to get to work
  • Loans will not be granted to reduce a financial hardship caused by large or recurring but predictable bills, (e.g., auto insurance, automobile registration)

The work we do is hard, and very rewarding. Our lives are busy. Taking time away to rest, relax and just breath is very important. Taking time away to care for yourself or a loved one, is also important. Androscoggin has you covered. We have options to support you and your family so that you are able to step away from your work and return to us when you are ready and able.
