Androscoggin Named 2018 Best Place to Work in Maine

Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice was recently named as one of the 2018 Best Places to Work in Maine. The awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – Maine State Council and Best Companies Group. Best Places to Work in Maine is presented by JobsinME.com. Partners endorsing the program include Maine State Chamber of Commerce, The Maine Department of Labor, The Department of Economic and Community Development, Maine HR Convention and Mainebiz.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, to benefit the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2018 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 75 companies in three size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees) and large (250+ U.S. employees).

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth 75% of the overall assessment. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.

Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice was recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 9 at the Augusta Civic Center, with more than 650 people attending.  Ken Albert, President/CEO of Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice said “while we might be considered a large employer, with more than 250 employees, we’re extremely honored to be recognized alongside some of Maine’s biggest employers, including national brands, as one of Maine’s Best Places to Work for 2018.  Our people are our most valuable asset, delivering the high-quality, compassionate care Mainers have come to expect from our organization.”
