Androscoggin Presents Tripp Lake Camp with the Heart of Hospice Award

Heart of Hospice: Tripp Lake Camp

Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice recently presented Tripp Lake Camp with its Heart of Hospice Award.  Each year Androscoggin Hospice staff and volunteers nominate and recognize a community member who has gone above and beyond for hospice patients and their families.  Leslie Konigsberg Levy and Nancy McCann were in attendance to accept the award on behalf of Tripp Lake Camp.

Tripp Lake Camp has become the annual supporter of Androscoggin’s Camp Dragonfly, a day-long grief camp for children and teens who are either coping with the loss of a loved one or experiencing anticipatory grief for someone with a terminal illness.  Tripp Lake Camp not only hosts the event, but provides food for campers and volunteers. They also attend the event to help with set up and managing the day’s activities.

Linda Lee, Androscoggin Camp Dragonfly Volunteer, said “You may not see the impact that this one day of camp has on these hurting families, but I assure you, it is huge. Tripp Lake Camp is an integral part of starting their journey of healing.”
